Okay, I have an exceptionally weird request, help me followers?

Alright, so I know that this isn’t the sort of thing that most of my followers are going to respond to, let alone look at or care about, but any of you who do actually take the time to sit down and read this (whether you feel you can help me or not) should shoot me a message because I love you for trying.

Right, so I’m writing something of a Chicago story and I need help establishing more of a Chicago voice with a first person narrative. It isn’t anything particularly long or astounding (it currently stands at ~11 double-spaced pages if you include the stupidly indulgent three pages of sex that I wrote for a class last night), but I feel good enough about the story to want to send it to someone that’s marginally interested for the sake of them having them rip it apart and tell me I’m a terrible person and whatnot, because that’s sort of what I need.

But even better if you read people like Stewart Dybek or Scott Turow who are well-known for their ability to write Chicago stories with a Chicago voice. I’m a suburbs kid and don’t know enough about the authenticity of the coarseness to get it just right. In fact, I haven’t even truly begun to explore it in the voice of the narrator yet; it’s still very genteel. I just don’t have time to go back and read/analyze Dybek and Turow considering I have to write ~10 pages of narrative a week, read ~500 pages of literary theory and nineteenth century literature, and write another ~20 pages of analysis a week.

Right, so, yeah. If anyone is at all marginally somewhat interested, holler at me and I’ll send something to you.

Thanks for entertaining my chatty needs.
